fast, 12"+ annually
Coniferous evergreen with low-spreading branches and a broad, flat-topped habit at maturity. In youth it is more pyramidal in shape. Dark green needles, that can be either straight or curved, densely cover the branches. Bark of this pine is among the best! Dark brown furrows and flattened ridges are very attractive. This hardy pine will tolerate coastal conditions, poor soils, clay or alkaline soils, heat and drought. Fantastic choice for a specimen tree, or also as a screen or windbreak.
